For very short delays: no. tos 2/3.06 use timer c of the ttmfp (if that is 
available), otherwise timer-a of the mfp for this purpose. But that is done 
only during booting, dunno wether that might conflict later with other drivers. 
I also don't know wether those timers are available on the Milan. But you 
definitely need something similar; counting cpu cycles, and then supporting all 
kinds of cpus from 000 to appollo and what not won't work.
