fvdi is started from mint.cnf, like described on atariforge.org/ctpci/wiki.
Ok, so only fVDI, no NVDI, right? This won't work with the Eclipse, but don't pay too much attention to that. It could be worth a try. Also, try starting fVDI before MiNT.
I must say that i don't like this very much, it's a bit confusing: NVDI+fvdi... what is setin which sys-file (assign.sys, fvdi.sys) then?
As Johan said, with NVDI started after fVDI, NVDI will use fVDI as some sort of graphics card driver. I have not been able to get XaAES to work with fVDI alone with the Rage-driver (with the Eclipse), it needs NVDI. However, I think that must be due to the Rage-driver, as XaAES work just fine with fVDI alone on Aranym.
Also, N.AES works perfectly fine with just fVDI on the Eclipse, it's probably XaAES that use some NVDI-feature that doesn't work properly with fVDI+Rage.
One more: While booting MiNT, i get a warning now "Warning: PMMU already in use!"What's this?
Just a guess, but perhaps the Radeon-driver use the MMU to remap the video RAM. The Eclipse/Rage-driver does this as well, which probably is why Eclipse + memory protection isn't such a good combination.
