Yes you need to modify it. My translation of teradesk to greek wouldn't runon ST Low because of the word size. Also dialogs etc wouldn't fit.
In this case I would prefer to abbreviate things - I've often seen things like "Abbr.Pr.Dat." on windows (doesn't mean this is the preferred way).
And I imagine to variate object-sizes and allocate memory for longer strings, but let's see if it is necessary.
