Yep, so did I.  At one point I knew how to hack it, it was something in
the CVS/Entries files.  But now I always go back to what was already
mentioned here:  Move the modified files to a safe place, check out a
fresh local working copy, copy the files from the safe place to the
local working copy and try again.
