[MiNT] Cookie jar under MiNT: is it a real problem ?

Hello,

Following the discussions, it appears some people want normal access to
cookie-jar, despite memory protection, and others want private cookie jar,
which leads to other problems.

Under MiNT (and any good Unix-like system) there is only one way to access
hardware: it is device drivers (/dev/*). It seems you all have forgotten
this. One should write a /dev/scsidrv to provide scsidrv functions, the
same for stik, xhdi or whatever provides functions pointers to cookie-jar.

The cookie-jar is useful only under TOS. In MiNT (and Magic or other
multitasking os, with/without memory protection), device drivers should be
used.
