You know what I mean. If you or someone else still have a mail in the
private folder, or find any reference to a posting here or on UseNet via
Deja News, please tell me. It's not completely impossible that I've
forgotten it, but you'd have to help me.

Well, in that case, it's almost impossible that is has anything to do
with thingreg.ovl, as the actual code in the .ovl isn't even executed
when there's no thing.key file, because Thing then already knows it
can't be registered.

Yes, you have reported "crashes with a (bus) error". And I've - as often
- asked you to provide more details, but never got them.

Now, though, you have provided details in another mail, which I've
answered privately, as it's off topic for the list, anyway.

Or your setup. It wouldn't be the first time it turned out to be some
configuration flaw that caused problems for you, if I recall correctly.
