Let me try to explain better:

I want to change my desktop resolution without rebooting MiNT
completely. I can do so by changing the "video = n" in xaaes.cnf and
then call Task Manager (alt+L) and quitting XaAES with alt+U.

XaAES then respawns and comes up nicely with the new resolution. So far
so good.

I'd like to automate this process with a shell script. If i knew how to
tell XaAES to quit from a Toswin window, i'd be done. I made a .cnf file
for every resolution my GFX card can do. My script renames the chosen
one, so the "include vidmode.cnf" argument inside xaaes.cnf finds it.

I only don't know how to "xaaes --restart".

I am looking for this because i don't know of any better way.
