You probably mean the libc-mini library, which someone made up because he was 
annoyed by the size of the executables. Its basically a stripped down version 
of mintlib, that does not contain the stuff when you dont care about POSIX 
compliance (e.g for GEM applications). Using that would make porting even more 
difficult.
