Re: [MiNT] Midi

Yes, I do my MIDI work in single TOS, but I was just curious if anyone knew anything about this.  I certainly don't want to damage my Falcon if it is a MIDI keyboard malfunction.  I was also curious if FreeMiNT may have some code that is accessing the MIDI ports for another purpose, like networking.

I have a strange problem.  I'm using the 1.18.0 kernel.  When my midi keyboard is powered on and plugged in to the midi in port on my Falcon,  Mint always freezes at or about "calibrating delay loop".  Anyone ever experience something like this?

I had quite a time figuring out that this was what was going on!  Weird.

I have no idea what could be causing this.

But to be honest, I don't see much reason to connect a MIDI keyboard to a FreeMiNT powered Falcon. It's many years ago that I owned a Falcon030/CT2b running FreeMiNT. The FreeMiNT kernel and especially also XaAES, have improved a lot since then. But the MIDI software that was part of the success of ATARI computers still runs best in a single TOS environment.
