First of all I was wondering if there was a program that could connect to a time server and set the date and time on my falcon (with dead nvram battery).
Hello, I once wrote a small tool for that: http://nic-nac-project.org/~monokrom/monochrom.net/atari/dl/timec1_3.zipYou will need the tool "keeptime" when used with an empty battery, it's within the zip file.
The magicnet version is said to be compatible with mintnet. Otherwise you could use the sting version via gluestik.
I'm not sure if the servers provided within the config are still online.
If you need to run from mint.cnf, that's works well when you configure messages to "off" - altough it's still not 100% clean, because it calls appl_init() anyway, an AES call... however, that's how I used it with my falcon.
Another option would be ntpclient or something like that. But I like my tool more =)
It's my first program for atari, so there is much room for better code, the source is provided within the zip.
Greets, m
