Are you sure when starting from symlink in /usr/bin, the actual path (where rsc is looking for) isn't the target, i.e. /c/tools/app folder? I'd say it works perfectly.

Because of 10-20 files (links) more? Can't believe that.
- When de-installing you might have the dead links in /usr/bin
? Every package manager deletes also created symlinks.
- You don't know in advance if you start a GEM- or a console-app
And? How many times you wanted to start Amarok in terminal in Linux?
Surely there are more.
I don't say we must do that in "my" way but I don't see any particular disadvantage either.
