If you don't like the default UNIXMODE value, what's the problem to change
it in mint.cnf?
Probably no problem. But it there is a config file to write for a basic MiNT
usage, people will think it is complicated.
Actually that's why the kernel sets UNIXMODE. I remember that we had "bug
reports" from people experiencing problems of MiNT's "bad" (= unexpected)
behaviour (in fact, of course, not MiNT's but mintlib's) only because they
forgot/neglected to set the UNIXMODE.
If you remove the default setting, you'll probably fall in this trap
again.
