I have the same problem trying to find stuff from last week

a search system would be nice

is the list on any of the many list mirrors around the net, as most of
them have search facilities

alternatively, php can chug through many files names & large files in
one hit, and there is a way to bypass the script timeouts (with script
linking and a self refreshing page)

its quick enough to not time out when searching through whole php manual
