By dividing the virtual screen into four screens you mean? That would be
tricky. However, it can easily be implemented by hiding and displaying
groups of applications, where each group defines one desktop. I made
something like this in 1995 (VDesk, sources are lost but it was easy to
implement), and TWSM is already mentioned.
