Hmm, by looking closer at that, here are the facts:

The file lib/libstdc++.la

In MiKRO's build for MiNT:
# Libraries that this one depends upon.
dependency_libs=' /home/mikro/gnu-tools/m68k-atari-mint/lib/libstdc++.la'

In my Cygwin's binaries:
# Libraries that this one depends upon.
dependency_libs=' -lm'

If you search dependency_libs in your favourite search engine, you will find 
nothing else than "bug", "oddities"...
