that still support N.AES I guess you mean, does that mean 1.17 cant,
no probs 1.16 is still used by many, and I'm "giving it some love" atm
too, I am interested to see how it performs, as I have read some of
the older change logs..

this is not an issue as long as AHCC is up to the task (I see there is
a new version of AHCC 3b5 - 2009-12-08)

I will look for this with avid anticipation. :) I would like to have
dynamic gradients via a color wheel (round color chart), not just your
more traditional "select this color here, select that color there"
type config front end.

I see the config can start the taskmanager on startup, it is just
undocumented ;)

This I presume is a struct (or similar) nothing a bit of porting cant
solve. I would guess though, that it was removed because it no longer
supported "the new format" and that there was not seen a need to take
the time to "rework it", well now is a good time as any..

FYI:

A quick search of the net turns up a few references, mostly to old
links on Henks site, but someone may have these files "lying around"
somewhere
XAAES963.ZIP
XAES963S.ZIP

Presuming these are not the ones Henk is about to make available

Search of XA_SCL and you will get three old posts, one stating that
0.970 already contains xa_scl.prg inside XaAES, from 2003 in
comunications with original developer, Martin Tarenskeen, and this in
the current Changelog.freemint:
"Initial import of the gcc modified XaAES 0.963 source. Version	bumped
to 0.970."
