I use both. I have my Milan, a PC and a laptop (and will soon set up my TT again) in a network, all these have static IP. I also have a laptop at work, and (unfortunately) have to use it at home occasionally.

I've set up my router's DHCP server to hand out addresses between 192.168.80.200 and 192.168.80.255. The rest of the 192.168.80.*-range is reserved for static addresses. This way I have fixed addresses for my private machines, and also have the convenience of DHCP when I use my work laptop or for the occasional guest.
