[MiNT] My remarks (2)
Hi again,
I finally installed easymint (basic and standard package) and the new
kernel.
At the moment the easymint part of my installation is unusable as I'm
using the mint.cnf distributed with 1.16.0 which doesn't use "init" but
starts directly xaaes. As desktop I installed jinnee in the xaaes.cnf.
1. After booting I see an alert: "pid 2 (update): block_IO (F):
bio_writeout: RWABS fail (ignored, -13)"
Is this a problem or should I just 'click it away'?
2. Further if I enable "init step by step" in the boot menu, the system
freezes after "Warning: You have turned off memory protection". This
happens in on my CT60 with and without MP. It freezes and doesn't react
on any keypress.
3. What miracle needs to happen so that I'll be able to start a TOS/TTP
application by doubleclicking on it?
I already enabled the "launcher=...tw-call.prg" in the xaaes.cnf and
the application can be found at the given location.
If I start "tw-call.prg" manually, jinnee states: "Error while loading.
(Out of memory?)"
5. In mint.cnf you write "not recommended to enable VFAT on your
bootdrive (C:)" but the distribution published already contains files
which have long filenames: MINT\1-16-0\TBL\Switzerland*
Perhaps the "tbl" folder should be moved out of "mint\1-16-0\" folder
as most of the people won't install them anyway.
Further folder with long filenames: DRIVER\ASSEMS*
6. If I reenable "init" as boot system and start then XaAES using
xaloader.prg. I can't quit XaAES to get back to bash! Mouse is still
active but neither menu nor desktop can be used.
There seem to be a lot of "locks" and "freezes" which have to be
resolved until I can really get to the internals of MiNT :-)
At the moment I'll still use MagiC and TOS for my developing purposes.
Philipp
PS
You see I'm not afraid of asking stupid questions :-)
