[MiNT] Harddisk crash (again)

I've just had a harddisk crash.

Symptoms are very similar to my previous crash that happened
previously, Frank should know whar I am speaking about.
(first sectors of harddisk device have been wiped out)

The problem is that I cannot find similar things that connect the
that happened before the crash.

For the first crash, I blamed badsectors and a strange behaviour
whe harddisk ecoutered one badsector. I do not know what failed, OS,
driver of hdd firmware, but I blamed badsectors.

The disk was 20GB IDE Maxtor. Becouse I was still under warranty I got
a new one: 40GB IDE Seagate (and on this new one I have a crash now).

Session before the crash was nothing special: I was listening to some
SNDs (using SNDPlayer), then some mods (using Dump). Then I wanted to
wath a demo (Wait) but Thing told something strange: Application
could not be started. So I reeboted to wath it under SingleTOS. And
it was the last time I saw my data on C: partition.

I do not know what may be wrong, or what happened. I was told that
SNDPlayer has some problems with IDE, but I shouldnt lead to disk
corruption should it?

If anyone is warrying about my data, he shouldn't. I recovered
partition table without problems. Only things lost are FATs on C:,
but I have recent backups, and I do not keep any valuable data on C:.

One thing come in mind: about two years ago I had similar crash
(partition table was lost) but I do not remember if I lost Master
Boot Record, and I remember that not data on C: was lost.
