The "VME" serial ports are on the TT main boards, only the connectors are
mounted in a VME backplate, so you can easily get the ports out (the flat
cables easily fit between the TT case and the new VME backplate) even if you
insert a VME card. The connectors will be dangling behind the machine, but
that is only a cosmetical/mechanical problem.
