Just to clarify it, this failure have nothing todo with the MiNTLib or the
binutils or any rpm package.

One thing from 2.8.1 I remember is that the 'gcc' from 2.8.1 evaluate
enivronment variables like GCCINCDIR, GCCLIBDIR or something like that.
Are you sure no one of these environment variables is set?
