I have, actually; processing a message tru an external conversion
will only work if the mailbox is local, in which case we can hack
the spool directly and convert any UTF-8 message to a char-set we
handle (Latin9), so we can both read the message _and_ reply to
it. The "external viewer" wrapper trick would not work for that.
