Nope. Use forcemed.ttp (IIRC, I hardly ever use it) to force a mediachange.
It's no worse than having to umount/mount every time.

But "mount" is a lot more than just informing about mediachanges. We already
have tools for that, but I really can't see any point in changing MiNT's
mounting-mechanism. As I see it, it will only result in a more complicated
and less flexible system.

Apart from the fact that you have to *configure* this stuff? That you need
another daemon running? Just to get similar (but lesser) functionality to
that what MiNT already supports in the kernel?
