Yup. Managed to find all the information I needed in The Compendium.

No big deal. The source is getting a bit messy, though.

Um, neither - it's development, so I'm doing it with a compile-time flag
(an #ifdef). vconsttd is the new one to use if you want to use that, see
the stuff on the page and in screen.c. It is, of course, completely
untested and may break badly.

Grab it and try it out, with the appropriate caveats (run something
first so you can recover if it breaks, remember; I learned that lesson 
the hard way). Let me know how it goes^Wbreaks. :)
