That NVDI5 only works properly with MagiC is a well known fact, I
don't think anybody can dispute that.

I don't know why Taskbar doesn't work properly on your setup, as I
don't use any NVDI-specific calls at all. Also, it works just as
well with 4.12 on my TT as with 5.01 on my Falcon.

Actually, I don't think the problems are related to the VDI at all.
I did some more tests with 1.15.1 on my TT today, and so far I haven't
been able to boot it at all.

With only mintnt.prg in the autofolder, no active accessories, no mint.cnf
and no XDDs or XFS' it crash with a bus-error just as it's supposed to
start the AES.

With a very minimal mint.cnf (only one line, 'GEM=c:\n_aes\n_aes030.sys')
I get a very strange error: Just when it's loading/parsing mint.cnf it enters
a endless loop and outputs a lot of gurba. It looks something like this:

0000 hbg"4jki
0000 /&%93987kd
0000 w
p000 /&jjd
0000 OKJjhs67%/
etc...

The kernel is mint030.prg (size: 199551) from Frank's 1.15.1 binary
distribution. A self-compiled debug-kernel behaves the same way.

My TT has the following configuration:

TOS 3.06
4Mb ST-RAM, 32Mb TT-RAM (aixTT with one 32Mb SIMM).
HD-Driver 7.12

(I don't think these matters)
NVDI 4.12r??
N.AES 1.1.7
Thing 1.27

I do have a problem with HD-Driver 7.12 though: With both my Mega (IDE, TOS
2.06) and TT (SCSI, TOS 3.06) it's impossible to boot into TOS, as the AES
can't allocate it's background-buffer. With HD-Driver 6.30 there are no
problems.
