Re: LAN-port (Falcon) under MiNT

I'm having problems with the LAN-port under MiNT. If I just copy some
  stuff to /dev/serial2 (e.g. 'echo ath1 > /dev/serial2') the modem
responds, but if I try pppd nothing works. From then on the modem is
unreachable, I have to reboot to access it again.

I'm using a standard Mac modem-cable, which has worked fine with
CoNnect previously. I'm also using HS-Modem 7, but it doesn't seem
to make a difference if I don't use it.

That reminds me of my recent post about MiNT messing up the MIDI port,
even though it used to work correctly before with ConNect. However, I
cannot use ANY port correctly under MiNT. I *would* use HS-Modem, but
on my Stacy it seems MiNT (especially MiNTnet) and HS-Modem cannot be
running at the same time; I can use ConNect with MFP/MIDI modules in
single-TOS, but *none* of the HS-Modem modules work with MiNT: they
freeze MiNT at bootup while loading SOCKDEV.XDD and SLIP.XIF which
sounds very similar to Josk's problem above.

Does ANYONE have serial drivers that can permanently replace HS-Modem
and beloaded by MiNT as XDD drivers, to finally resolve the problem?

Thanks! ;-)
