IP-UP questions

Hi, I use fetchpop as a daemon, and would like to run that from ip-up.
But I just can't... The problem is that I can't run it from a script,
I need to run it ONCE logged. I heard there something to put in the
script regarding SU.  anyone to explain how would I put that
correctly?
