Mint X11 question...

I'm having another go at installing X under MiNT, but I'm running
into a fatal error message I just can't shake off... 

The message is: "could not open default font 'fixed'".  I have a good
idea why this is happening (for some reason the server doesn't look
in the right place).  I haven't figured out how to tell the server
where to look... could someone help me with that? 

It's funny though, 'cause I would have thought that
/usr/lib/X11/fonts was a good place for them...

BTW, does anyone know if the X11 port for MiNT is still being
maintained, and if sources are available?
