TeX/METAFONT

Has anyone built a recent TeX (like 3.1415) and METAFONT for MiNT?

I've been using CS-TeX under TOS/GEM, which is a pretty good
implementation, with a nice GEM DVI viewer. It has a few quirks though,
and the CS-TeX shell (CTEX.PRG) doesn't behave well after installing
LaTeX2e... this means I have to use the command-line, which is ok. I
haven't really tested it under MiNT yet.

CS-TeX also uses its own DVI drivers, which is also a little annoying,
since I wanted to use dvips; I don't think CS-TeX's dvi_ps works quite
the same way, and I can't seem to figure out how to tell it where to get
its PostScript stub (/tex/bin/dvi_ps.ps) from.

How brutal is it to built TeX and METAFONT under MiNT? Everyone was
saying smail was easy to port, but I could never get through the
configuration scripts... TeX's code is pretty hideous from what I've
heard (we're having problems porting it to QNX because WATCOM C pukes on
some of the nasty macros in the code).

Does anyone know of a TeX/METAFONT implementation with LaTeX2e already
with it?
