Minix XFS

Well, I finally got my hard drive working properly (I think). I had to send
the other one back (a digital 540MB). For some reason it would reset itself,
and the Atari driver or Supra drivers wouldn't work with it properly - they
recognized the drives, but wouldn't open the icon (ICD driver worked fine).
What's weird is that with the DMA going through the MF30, everything would
work, even with the SCSI ID to both drives set the same (the MF30 would be
ignored in that case, but the Atari driver would work).

Anyway, all that is cleared up, as well as the problem with ICD drivers not
recognizing Minix partitions correctly. Weird stuff. I think it was a bad
drive. The replacement is a quantum, and only 17ms (the digital was a nice
11ms) but at least it works and doesn't reset itself all the time!

Anyway, why is a FAT partition faster than a Minix partition? Do I need to
up the cache in Minix and recompile? Is it just because the FAt partitions
are SMALL and in the center of the disk?

Who do I contact about XHDI drivers (I know someone gave me this info - I lost
it)? And who was working on the free AES?

Thanks,
Evan Langlois
